Marcos Escudero Viñolo was born in Madrid, Spain in 1984. He made his under grade studies in the Ramiro de Maeztu high school in Madrid. Then he started his studies in Electric Engineering and Computer Science at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in 2002 and in 2006 he spent a year as an Erasmus student in the Mälardälens Högskola at Västerås, Sweden while he received his title as Ingeniero de Telecomunicación (M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering) in 2008 and his MPhil degree in Multimedia Signal Processing at 2009, both form the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.

In 2007 he joined the Video Processing and Understanding Lab (VPU-Lab) to develop his grade Dissertation under the supervision of PhD student Fabrizio Tiburzi and PhD professor Jesús Bescós. From then in advance he has been working as a PhD student in the VPU-Lab under the supervision of PhD professor Jesús Bescós. In the line of his Thesis, he has collaborated in European projects (MESH) and National projects (CENIT-VISION).

According to his research lines, they are mainly focussed in the area of video analysis, both in the compress and uncompress domains, targeting to develop automatic video content translators. With this aim, his efforts are focused in the detection, extraction, localization, tracking and characterization of the objects present in the scene.
